Yuan-Source Points
Specific acupoints located on the twelve main channels, primarily near the wrist and ankle, where the body's primary energy flows and accumulates.
Yuan-Qi
The primary energy of the body, originating from the area below the umbilicus between the kidneys.
Shu-Stream Points
Acupoints that in the yin channels are the same as Yuan-Source points and are useful for diagnosing and treating chronic conditions.
Back-Shu Points
Acupoints located on the back that correspond to the zang organs and are used for diagnosis and treatment.
Luo-Connecting Points
Acupoints where collaterals branch off from the primary channels, connecting paired interior-exterior channels.
Qi Transformation
The process in which qi moves and flows through the body, essential for maintaining health.
Yin Channels
Channels linked to the zang-organs, including lungs, heart, and kidneys, where Yuan-Source points also serve as Shu-Stream points.
Yang Channels
Channels linked to the fu-organs, including stomach and bladder, where Yuan-Source points differ from Shu-Stream points.
Tonification
A therapeutic method aimed at augmenting qi and strengthening the body's energy.
Qi Deficiency
A condition where there is a lack of sufficient energy flow in the body's channels.
Luo-Connecting Point LU-7 (Lieque)
An acupoint on the Lung channel that treats lung conditions like cough and asthma, and issues in the Large Intestine channel.
Yuan-Luo Pairing
A technique combining Yuan-Source points with Luo-Connecting points to enhance the regulation of qi flow between two channels.
Homeostasis
The body's ability to maintain stable internal conditions amidst external changes, supported by the function of Yuan-Source points.
Collaterals
Microcirculatory pathways that connect the deeper running channels of the body.
Acupoint Measurement
The process of identifying specific points on the body for acupuncture treatment.
