refers to the size of something compared with something else

the measurement of space between two location on the earths surface and can be determined using an absolute measure such as kilometres

the arrangement of features or objects on the earths surface
environment
refers to the world around us. it comprises the interconnected living and non living physical elements of the earths surface and atmosphere as well as human made features and the human conditions of places.
interconnection
emphasises that all places and environment are interconnected in some way and that they do not exist in isolation, whether at a local or global level.
movement
involves a change in the location of phenomena such as people, goods and ideas.
region
a definable area containing one or more characteristics that distinguish it from surrounding areas.
change
relates to the degree to which something alters or is modified, over time.
process
a series of ongoing events or steps that lead to the development, change or preservation of something.
spatial associataion
is the degree to which two or more phenomena are similarly distributed or arranged on the earths surface.
sustainability
the capacity of the environment and social systems to support people and other living things now and into the long term future.
