Summarise the story of Abraham and Isaac including the key details.
God ordered Abraham to go to the land of Moriah and offer Isaac as a sacrifice. They went with two men.After 3 days, A & I went to sacrifice him. Isaac asked where the sacrifice was and Abraham said that God will provide. A ram appeared.
Why did God test Abraham?
God tested Abraham to allow him to choose to be faithful to God.
What does the story teach about faith?
That God will provide if you listen.
What are the arguments for why this was a fair test?
God wanted to see if A trusted him, and God knew how much A loved his son so it was the ultimate test.
What are the arguments for why this was not a fair test?
A could've killed Isaac, God is going against his word, and it was unfair on the whole family.

What is the meaning of a covenant?
A formal promise between two or more people.
What was the covenant promising?
1. God will look after Abraham and his descendants as long as every male was circumcised at 8 days old.
2. If a foreigner wanted to celebrate Passover, every male in his house must be circumcised.
What is Brit Milah?

The chosen male who takes the baby from the mother to the Mohel.
What is a Mohel?
Trained Jew who performs circumcision.
What is a Sandek?
The person who holdds the baby boy on a cushion during the circumcision.
