Typical Vertebra Components
The structure of a vertebra which includes the body, arch, vertebral foramen, spinous process, transverse processes, and articular processes.
Vertebral Column Ligaments
Key connective tissues including the supraspinous ligament, interspinous ligaments, dorsal longitudinal ligament, and ventral longitudinal ligament.
Dorsal Muscles
Muscles located above the vertebral column that function in the extension of the back and raising the head and neck.
длиннейшая мышца спины
An example of a dorsal muscle located above the vertebral column.
подвздошно-рёберная мышца
An example of a dorsal muscle located above the vertebral column.
Ventral Muscles
Muscles located below the vertebral column that function in the flexion of the vertebral column and movement of the neck.
длинная мышца шеи
An example of a ventral muscle located below the vertebral column.
длинная мышца головы
An example of a ventral muscle located below the vertebral column.
Innervation of the Vertebral Column
The supply of nerves provided to the vertebral structures by the spinal nerves.
Blood Supply of the Vertebral Column
The arterial supply consisting of the vertebral arteries, intercostal arteries, and lumbar arteries.
