  • doesnt attempt to breakdown/reduce complex behaviours unlike cognitive which reduces to computational thinking etc.

  • behaviourism reduces to stimulus response

  • advocates holism and appreciates complexity of behaviour

  • many ideas (self acualisation) are central to individualistic cultures

  • collectivist cultures strive for community and groups rather than individual achievement so cant be generalised.

  • therefore approach limited to cross cultural applicability
