What is Tawhid
The oneness and unity of Allah; He is unique and indivisible and has no partners or equals
Qur’an 3:18 - ‘There is no other deity except him…’
What is Shahada and its significance?
The first of the five pillars of faith.
Is a declaration of faith saying ‘There is no other God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger’
Significance - A way for Muslims to testify that Allah is the only deity worth worshipping and Muhammad is his final prophet
What is Immanence?
The belief that Allah is vital and present in the universe; He is close and involved in the world.
Qur’an 50:16 - ‘…We are closer to you than your jugular vein’
What is Transcendence?
The belief that Allah is above human understanding and laws of space and time.
Qur’an 7:54 - ‘Exalted be God, Lord of all worlds’
What is Omnipotence?
The belief that Allah is all powerful and the supreme creator that sustains everything.
Qur’an 2:109 - ‘He has power over all things’
What is Beneficence?
The belief that Allah’s kindness has no limits and is caring to all his creations.
Qur’an 17:20 - ‘Lord’s bounty is not restricted’
What is Mercy?
The belief that Allah forgives everyone for their wrongdoings instead of punishing them because he is beneficent in nature.
Qur’an 17:56 - ‘My mercy embraces all things’
What is Fairness and Justice?
The belief that Allah treats everyone and everything fairly and equally and is just.
Qur’an 4:58 - ‘If you judge between people, do so with justice’
