What is an event ?
A subset of an experiment, e.g. getting exactly one head is an event in an experiment where two coins are flipped
Define sample space
The set of all possible outcomes of an experiment
Define exhaustive events
A set of events is exhaustive if atleast one event must occur
Define mutually exclusive events
No more than one event can occur at once
True or False : events cannot be both exhaustive and mutually exclusive
False : e.g. flipping a coin : you cannot get heads and tails at once but you must get exactly one
