What were the goals of the Cultural Revolution

To sweep away all foreigners’ aka (monsters as Mao would say) and mold people’s souls to what Mao wanted.

Why did the Great Leap Forward fail? Do you think this was too ambitious? Why or why not?

It took all the workers in China and put them in factories, they could not produce food anymore causing mass amounts of people to starve. I think his plan was too ambitious because he was trying to do something in 5 years that took other countries a very long time.

Why did Mao Zedong launch the Cultural Revolution? How did he enforce it?

He wants to get rid of China's royal past. He enforced his cultural revolution by using red guards (students)

What happened to the people who disagreed with the Cultural Revolution? How is this an example of totalitarianism?

They were persecuted and suffered abuse; they don’t want anybody to challenge their beliefs.
