What were the goals of the Cultural Revolution

To sweep away all foreigners’ aka (monsters as Mao would say) and mold people’s souls to what Mao wanted.

Why did the Great Leap Forward fail? Do you think this was too ambitious? Why or why not?

It took all the workers in China and put them in factories, they could not produce food anymore causing mass amounts of people to starve. I think his plan was too ambitious because he was trying to do something in 5 years that took other countries a very long time.

He wants to get rid of China's royal past. He enforced his cultural revolution by using red guards (students)
