Gesetz (Law)
A rule determined by the legislator in a procedure provided for under constitutional law, which is valid for everyone.
Vereinsvorschrift (Association Regulation)
A rule issued by the competent organs of an association, valid only for members and carrying no legal consequences outside the association.
SanG (Sanitatergesetz)
The Paramedic Act, which serves as the legal foundation for the paramedic profession and specifies general emergency competencies.
San-AV (Sanitater-Ausbildungsverordnung)
The Paramedic Training Ordinance which regulates the content, requirements, and organizational framework for training emergency and rescue paramedics.
Arzneimittellehre (NKA)
A general emergency competency involving the administration of specific medications from 'Arzneimittelliste 2' previously released by the authorized medical representative.
Venenzugang und Infusion (NKV)
A general emergency competency involving the puncture of peripheral veins and the infusion of crystalloid solutions.
Criteria for 11 SanG Application
Measures performed for the immediate defense against dangers to life or health, provided the same goal cannot be achieved by less invasive means.
Organisationsverschulden

Disclosure for the purpose of decision-making, covering diagnosis, treatment, risks, purpose, scope, and consequences.

Also known as therapeutic disclosure, aimed at ensuring the safety and therapeutic success of the treatment.
Entscheidungsfahigkeit ( 24 Abs 2 ABGB)
The ability to understand the meaning and consequences of one's actions, to determine one's will accordingly, and to behave as such.
M undige Minderjahrige (Mature Minors)
Minors who have completed their 14-th year of life, who are presumed to possess decision-making capacity for medical treatments under 173 Abs 1 ABGB.
Gefahr-in-Verzug-Regel ( 173 Abs 3 ABGB)
The 'danger in delay' rule concerning minors, where necessary treatment can be performed if consent cannot be obtained in time to prevent serious harm.
Prerequisites for NKA/NKV Implementation
Requires paramedic authorization, medical instruction from a present physician, or (if no doctor is present) the prior notification of an emergency physician.
Dokumentationspflicht ( 5 Abs 1 SanG)
The mandatory duty for paramedics to record all medical measures for quality assurance, traceability, and as evidence.
Core Documentation Elements
Includes anamnesis, vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, ECG), present personnel, environmental conditions, medical measures, and transport type.
