Kids in the Game
A multi‑activity day camp founded in 2003 that provides inclusive and positive programming including sports, creative arts, and theme days.
Core Values
The five central principles of the organization: being inclusive, positive, ambitious, empathetic, and committed.
Play with a Purpose
The specific model and positive behavior strategies that staff learn during their mandatory 30hours of pre-camp training.
Verbal Warning
The first disciplinary step used to remind a camper of the established rules and expectations.
Reflection Break
The second disciplinary step where a camper takes time away from the group to think about their behavior.
Director Meeting
The third disciplinary procedure involving a formal discussion between the camper and camp leadership to prevent future issues.
Parent Call
Step 4 of the behavior management process where staff contact parents directly to discuss a repeated offense.
Parent Meeting
The fifth disciplinary step consisting of a formal meeting between camp staff, the parent, and the child.
Suspension
The sixth and final disciplinary step involving removal from camp for serious issues like fighting or bullying, with no refunds provided.
Counselors in Training (CIT)
Staff members aged 15−16 who act as role models and provide support to groups but are not included in supervision ratios.
Special Events
On-site experiences for Pre-K and Kindergarteners involving outside vendors such as magicians, bounce houses, or bubble shows.
Field Trips
Off-site excursions away from the camp location available to campers entering 1st grade and up.
Theme Activities
On-site sports, art, and STEM projects led by staff that are designed around the specific theme of the week.
Surcharge
A non-refundable processing fee of 2.3% applied to all camp payments made via credit card.
UltraCamp
The online account system where families register for camp, submit health forms, and manage payments.
Waldo
A secure photo-sharing and facial recognition platform used by families to view images of their children during camp activities.
Late Fee
A charge of 30dollars for every 15minutes a child remains at camp after the final 5:30PM pick-up time.
Potty Trained
A mandatory requirement for all campers, including the youngest groups, meaning children cannot wear pull-ups to camp.
Health Director
The designated staff member at each site responsible for evaluating health issues and contacting parents in medical emergencies.
Scholarship Tiers
Financial aid awards granted based on need in increments of 100%, 75%, 50%, or 25% of total tuition.
Standard Ratios
Supervision requirements set at 1:6 for ages 4−5, 1:9 for ages 6−7, and 1:12 for campers aged 8+.
Field Trip Ratio
The heightened safety standard of 1coach for every 5campers during all off-site trips.
