Apply the holistic nursing process to patient care.

  • Holistic care

  • The nursing process

→ Holistic Care

  • Holistic nursing care is an approach to patient care that focuses on treating the whole person, rather than just the symptoms of their illness. It emphasizes the interconnectedness of the body, mind, spirit, and environment, aiming to promote optimal health and well-being.

  • Patient-centered care

  • Preventive and wellness-focused

  • Interdisciplinary collaboration

→ The nursing process

  • The nursing process is a systematic, five-step approach used by nurses to provide care to patients.

  • It involves assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. (ADPIE)

  • This process guides nurses in identifying patient needs, developing individualized care plans, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions.

  • We always need to use logical thinking during the assessment. For example, if you have a patient O2 to drop, first go in the room and try to figure out why before panicking
