Fasciculus cuneatus
→ Carries vibration, fine touch, and conscious proprioception from upper body (upper limbs, trunk, neck)
Fasciculus gracilis
→ Carries sensory information (fine touch, vibration, proprioception) from lower body
Ventral spinothalamic tract (anterior spinothalamic)
→ Carries crude touch (just knowing you are being touched) and firm pressure
Lateral spinothalamic tract
→ Carries pain and temperature sensations
Spinotectal tract
→ Helps suppress/modulate pain by projecting to midbrain (periaqueductal gray)
Dorsal spinocerebellar tract
→ Carries unconscious proprioception to cerebellum (coordination of movement)
Ventral spinocerebellar tract (anterior spinocerebellar) (and dorsal does this)
→ Carries unconscious proprioception to cerebellum for movement coordination
Spinoreticular tract
→ Carries pain signals that trigger arousal and automatic responses to injury
Spino-olivary tract
→ Carries proprioceptive info to olivary nuclei; helps with movement and balance coordination
Spinocervical tract
→ Carries touch and pressure sensations to the brain via cervical relay nuclei
