Parametric Curve
A curve whose coordinates x and y are both dependent variables given as functions of a third independent variable t, called a parameter.
Eliminating the Parameter
Rewriting two parametric equations as a single equation relating the variables x and y to better understand the graph of a curve.
Tangent Line in Parametric Equations
To find the tangent line of a parametric curve at a specific point, you utilize slopes and the Parametric Derivative Formula.
Point Slope Form
An equation of the form y - y₁ = m(x - x₁), used to define a line based on a point and slope.
Parametric Derivative Formula
A formula used to find the slope of the tangent line for parametric equations, where x and y are functions of the parameter t.
Initial and Terminal Points
Points on a parametric curve defined by the parameter values t=a (Initial Point) and t=b (Terminal Point).
