aortic arch
a curved blood vessel from which arteries branch to the head and neck.

brachiocephalic artery
right branch off the aortic arch

right subclavian artery
lateral direction and has 4 branches

right axillary artery
the name of the subclavian after it passes in front of the first rib

right brachial artery
the name of the axillary artery after it enters the arm

right common carotid artery
along the right side of the trachea

left common carotid artery
along the left side of the trachea

left subclavian artery
left branch off the aortic arch

name of the left subclavian after it passes the first rib

artery of the left arm

descending thoracic aorta
the part of the aorta that runs from the arch of the aorta to the diaphragm, gives off numerous branches that supply oxygenated blood to the chest cage and the organs within the chest.

descending abdominal aorta
provides blood to the abdomen, under the diaphragm

celiac trunk
first branch of the abdominal aorta, supplys stomach, pancreas gallbladder and spleen

posterior to the celiac trunk, supplys the small and large intestine

the external iliac once it enters the thigh
