Discipline which strives to give a coherent statement of the doctrines of Christian faith, based primarily upon the Scriptures, placed in the context of culture in general, worded in a contemporary idiom, and related to the issues of life

Systematic Theology

The gathering and analyzing of relevant information mainly from the scriptures concerning a particular topic and organizing that information intro clear explanations and teachings

Divine Revelation

God's manifestation of himself to man in such a way that man can know and fellowship with Him

General Revelation

God's communication of himself to all persons at all times and in all places

Special Revelation

God's manifestation of Himself to particular persons at definite times and places.

Apostolicity

Written by the apostles and their close associates

Antiquity

written in the time of Apostles.

Orthodoxy

does not contradict the overall message of the rest of the Bible/canon

Liturgy

Read and used in churches everywhere, and has the recognizable inspired power of the Holy Spirit.

The Authority of Scripture

All the words in scripture are God's words in such a way that to disbelieve or disobey any word is to disbelieve or disobey God

The Clarity of Scripture

the Bible is written such a way that its teachings are able to be understood by all who will read it seeking God's help and being willing to follow it

The Necessity of Scripture

the Bible is necessary for knowing the gospel, for maintaining spiritual life, and for knowing God's will, but is not necessary for knowing that God exists or for knowing something about God's character and moral laws.

Sufficiency of Scripture

Scripture contained all the words of God he intended his People to have at each stage of redemptive history and that it now contains everything we need God to tell us for salvation, for trusting him perfectly, and for obeying him perfectly.

Cosmological Argument

Every known thing in the universe has a cause.

Teleological Argument

It focuses on the evidence of harmony, order, and design in the universe, and argues that its design gives proof of an intelligent purpose.

Ontological Argument

begins with the idea of God, who is defined as being "greater than which nothing can be imagined"

begins from man's sense of right and wrong, and of the need for justice to be done,
