Protective Factors
Conditions or characteristics that reduce risks and promote healthy development and well-being of children, youth, and families.
Resilience
The ability to manage and find a solution to every situation a person may encounter.
Social connection
Support lent to the child or victim by friends, family, and members of the community.
Social-emotional competence
The ability of the child or victim to positively interact and express his feelings effectively.
Concrete support in times of need
The knowledge of when, where, and whom a person can turn to for support when a situation arises.
Knowledge of one's rights
Accurate information of rights and obligations used to take one's ground in a situation.
Neighborhood collective efficacy
Community cohesiveness, mutual trust, and a willingness to intervene for the common good.
Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, & Discrimination Act (RA 7610)
Provides protection to children against all forms of abuse, exploitation, and discrimination and provides sanctions for violations like trafficking and sexual abuse.
The Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003
Enacted on May 26, 2003, in the Philippines to eliminate and punish human trafficking, especially of women and children.
Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act (RA 9262)
Recognizes the need to protect the family and its members, particularly women and children, from violence and threats to personal safety.
Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act (RA 9344)
Covers stages involving children at risk and children in conflict with the law, from prevention to rehabilitation and reintegration.
