Adam
The first created man, who failed as a prophet, priest, and king by falling to sin.
Eve
The first created woman, made from Adam's rib, and mother of Cain, Abel, and Seth.
Cain
Oldest son of Adam and Eve who became the first murderer by killing his brother Abel.
Abel
Second son of Adam and Eve, a shepherd who was killed by his brother Cain.
Seth
The final child mentioned of Adam and Eve, who continued the genealogy after Adam. Means “has appionted”.
Enoch
Son of Jared who walked with God for 365 years before being taken by God.
Noah
Son of Lamech, called by God to build an ark and father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham saw his nakedness when he was drunk.
Abram/Abraham
Son of Terah, called by God, father of Isaac and grandfather of many nations. Covenant of circumcision with God.
Sarai/Sarah
Wife of Abraham who was barren and mother of Isaac.
Lot
Nephew of Abraham who lived in Sodom and was saved from its destruction. Father of Moabites and Ammonites.
Melchizedek
King and priest of Salem who blessed Abraham with bread and wine. Means “king of righteousness" in Hebrew.
Hagar
Sarah's servant who bore Abraham's son, Ishmael.
Ishmael
Son of Hagar and Abraham, destined to become a great nation.
Isaac
Son of Abraham and Sarah, husband of Rebekah, and father of Esau and Jacob.
Keturah
Second wife of Abraham, mother to several children after Sarah's death.
Rebekah
Wife of Isaac and mother of twins, Jacob and Esau.
Jacob/Israel
Younger son of Isaac and Rebekah, renamed Israel after wrestling with God.
Esau/Edom
Older twin brother of Jacob, favored by Isaac.
Leah
First wife of Jacob, mother of six of his sons.
Rachel
Jacob's second wife, mother of Joseph and Benjamin.

Second son of Rachel, named for his mother's sorrow at childbirth. Son 12, Jacob’s back up favorite.

An Egyptian official who bought Joseph as a slave.
Tamar
Widow of Er, later mother of twins Perez and Zerah, from Judah.
Canaan
The land promised to Abraham and his descendants after him. Seen as a fertile, prosperous land.
Egypt
Where Abraham and Sarah went during a famine, later where Joseph was sold.
The Garden in Eden
The paradise where Adam and Eve lived before the Fall.
Eden
The land surrounding the Garden of Eden, representing innocence and divine fellowship.
Haran
Place where Abram traveled after Ur before going to Canaan. Jacob escapes from Isaac and Esau here.
Wilderness
The area where Hagar and Ishmael escaped, and where Jacob also spent time.
Sodom and Gomorrah
Cities known for their wickedness, destroyed by God.
Hebron
The burial site of the patriarchs, including Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Mount Ararat
The mountain where Noah's ark came to rest after the flood.

Peniel
Where Jacob wrestled with God, messing up his hip, and is renamed Israel.
Shechem
Jacob buries idols here, this is also where Dinah is raped. Levi and Simeon kill all the men here in respoonse.

lace of Jacob’s ladder. Means “house of God”. Abram also built an altar here.
Goshen
Fertile land found in Egypt where Jacob’s family settles, sets the building blocks for the coming Exodus story.

The mountain where Abraham was commanded to sacrifice Isaac, symbolizing faith and obedience. Means “The Lord will provide”

Issachar

Asher
Son of Zilpah, 2 of Zilpah 8 of Jacob. Counted as Leah’s son.
Gad
Son of Zilpah. 1 son of Zilpah, 7 of Jacob. Counted as Leah’s son.
Naphtali
Son of Bilhah, 6 son of Jacob, 2 of Bilhah. Counted as Rachels.
Dan
Son of Bilhah, 5 son of Jacob, 1 of Bilhah. Counted as Rachel's.

Levi
Son of Leah, Son 3. Priests come from him, helped take revenge on those who defiled Dinah along with Simeon. Ancestors are scattered.
Simeon
Second son of Jacob and Leah. Worked with Levi to take revenge on behalf of Dinah, his sister.
Reuben
1 son of Leah and Jacob. Loses firstborn inheritance when he sleeps with Bilhah to piss of Jacob.
Bilhah
Maidservant of Rachel. Has two sons. Mother of Naphtali and Gad. Her sons are considered Rachels.
Zilpah
Maidservant of Leah. Mother of Gad and Asher. Counted as Leah’s kids.
