Scope
The objectives and requirements needed to complete a project.
Project Scope Management
The process of defining and planning a project’s success through the scope of work.
Scope Statement
A document that outlines what to deliver to stakeholders, what work must be done, and what will limit or influence project work.
Stakeholder
An individual or group that has an interest in the outcome of a project.
Scope Creep
Uncontrolled changes or continuous growth in a project's scope without adjustments to time, cost, and resources.
Voice of the Customer (VOC)
A technique used to gather customer needs and requirements.
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
A method for breaking down a project into smaller, more manageable components.
Acceptance Criteria
The conditions that must be met for a deliverable to be accepted.
Validating Scope
The process of confirming that the deliverables meet the requirements and are complete.
Controlling Scope
The process of monitoring project scope and managing changes to the scope baseline.
