At 1mg/kg in 600lb calves being fed at 2.3% of their body weight on a 100% dry matter basis what will the 100% dry matter inclusion rate need to be? What about a 90% dry matter?

600lbs = 272.2 kg

1mg/kg * 272.2kg = 273mg = 0.273 g per head

0.273 × 600 calves = 13.8lbs dry matter per day

2000 lbs * 1calf/13.8lbs = 145 calves fed per ton

145 calves * 0.273 g/head = 39.59g/ton added at 100% dry matter

What about 90% dry matter

39.59 × 0.9 = 35.64
