What does Al’Ashari say about al-Qad’r?

He accepted that no human act could occur if God does not allow it, and also that God knows all future human action. However, he argued that this was compatible with free will. For example, just because your parents allow you to stay up late playing video games, and just because they know you will do so, doesn’t mean you do not do so freely. You can also be held responsible for feeing tired the next day
