ٱلْعَصْرِ

To squeeze something. In this Surah, time is being “squeezed”, it’s limited. There’s a sense of urgency/pressure.

خُسْرٍ

Loss. The type of loss when you lose your original capital.

تَوَاصَوْا۟

To encourage or enjoin

ٱلْحَقِّ

Truth

ٱلْ ِبرْصَّ ٱل

Patience and being consistent

أَعُوذُ

Seek refuge in. To cling to someone out of protection.

ٱلْفَلَقِ

To tear something open

شَرِّ

Evil

خَلَقَ

Created

غَاسِقٍ

First part of the night when the blue goes away and becomes black

وَقَبَ

When something jumps in a ditch and you can't see it. Dark

ٱلنَّفَّـٰثَـٰتِ

The ones that blow into magic

ٱلْعُقَدِ

Knots

حَاسِدٍ

Person who is jealous

ٱلْحَمْدُ

Praiseworthy and deserving of shukur

ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ

Most Merciful. He has the opportunity to take revenge, but He does not

نَسْتَعِينُ

Ask for help

ٱهْدِنَا

Guide us

ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ

Straight

أَنْعَمْتَ

Bestowed grace upon, blessed

ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ

Displeased with

ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

Astray

كَيْدَهُمْ

Plotting that is done in secret

تَضْلِيلٍ

To be without existence. Nullity

أَرْسَلَ

To send

أَبَابِيلَ

In flocks

سِجِّيلٍ

Baked clay

عَصْفٍ

staw dry or Wind

مَّأْكُولٍ

Eaten

وَيْلٌ

Destruction. Or a valley in Jahanam.

هُمَزَةٍ

To break something/ break other people emotionally. Keep poking at someone.

لُّمَزَةٍ

Mocking someone openly, publicly.

جَمَعَ

To gather

مَالًا

Wealth

عَدَّدَهُۥ

To count

لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ

To throw something away that's worthless

ٱلْحُطَمَةِ

To step on something and crush it

تَطَّلِعُ

To climb something that is difficult

ٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةِ

Heart that is in an intense state

أَحَدٌ

One, no one else

ٱلصَّمَدُ

The one who is not in need of your love and yet still comes behind you, just the same. The one that everyone is in need of, but He is not in need of anyone.

يَلِدْ

Did not give birth

يُولَدْ

Was not given birth to

كُفُوًا

Has compatibility with

أَيُّهَا

Deep emphatic call to people

أَعْبُدُ

Worship

دِينُكُمْ

Your religion

لِىَ

For me

أَعْطَيْنَـٰكَ

We gave you. To give out of pleasure, out of want. Also to give something that is unexpected, more than they expected. Things that are grand.

ٱلْكَوْثَرَ

Abundant. Something positive

ٱنْحَرْ

Sacrifice. Let things go.

شَانِئَكَ

Particular type of enemy, the worse of them. The one who completely despises you and there’s no cure for it.

أَبْتَرُ

Cut off

تَبَّتْ

To be destroyed, perished

أَغْنَىٰ

To enrich, help

مَالُهُۥ

Wealth

لَهَبٍ

Flames

ٱلْحَطَبِ

Firewood

جِيدِهَا

Her neck

حَبْلٌ

cable / Rope

مَّسَدٍ

fiber - Palm

ٱلنَّاسِ

Mankind

مَلِكِ

One who completely owns. Complete authority over

إِلَـٰهِ

Lord that you worship

ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ

Whispers that keep on happening, again and again. Something negative

ٱلْخَنَّاسِ

To come and go, withdraw

صُدُورِ

Chest

جَآءَ

Came (something heavy/important)

نَصْرُ

Help

ٱلْفَتْحُ

Victory . Opening

أَفْوَاجًا

Multiple groups, large numbers

تَوَّابًا

Giving forgiveness

ٱلْقَارِعَةُ

Knock on something. Hit something that is barren

أَدْرَىٰكَ

Make someone understand something (past tense)

ٱلْفَرَاشِ

Moth

مَبْثُوثِ

To separate something, scatter it

عِهْنِ

Looks solid but it is weak. Like wool

مَنفُوشِ

To be carded, take the wool and make small fibers.

مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ

Scales

radiyah (رَّاضِيَةٍ)

Bottomless abyss. Canyon

حَامِيَةٌ

Blazing

أَلْهَىٰكُمُ

Distraction. When someone gives precedence to something that is lesser over something that is more important

ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ

Competing and rivalry with getting more materialistic things.

زُرْتُمُ

To visit

ٱلْمَقَابِرَ

Graveyard

تَعْلَمُونَ

You will know

ٱلْيَقِينِ

Solid conviction in your heart. No uneasiness.

لَتَرَوُنَّ

You will surely see

لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ

Will be asked

يَوْمَئِذٍ

On that day

ٱلنَّعِيمِ

Life of comfort and ease.

أَرَءَيْتَ

-To see/look at something. -Or could mean someone’s opinion

يُكَذِّبُ

A person that lies/falsifies someone

يَدُعُّ

To push away or to undermind

يَحُضُّ

Encourage

مِسْكِينِ

A person who does not have anything. (Person stuck in a situation that they can't get out of) .

سَاهُونَ

Neglegant

يُرَآءُونَ

Show off

يَمْنَعُونَ
