Marine Corps Mission
Provide Fleet Marine Forces for land operations, development of amphibious doctrines, and security detachments.
Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC)
Consists of the CMC, ACMC, DCs, and civilian employees, responsible for administration, discipline, and organization.
Fleet Marine Forces
Marine Corps forces that can be task-organized for various military operations.
Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF)
An integrated, combined arms force including air, ground, and logistics units under one commander.
Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF)
The principal warfighting organization capable of conducting amphibious and sustained operations.
Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB)
A mid-sized MAGTF capable of conducting major security operations and crisis response.
Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU)
A self-contained force capable of rapid crisis response, consisting of multiple specialized units.
Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force (SPMAGTF)
A MAGTF formed for specific missions, usually smaller than a MEU with tailored capabilities.
Marine Corps Reserve
Consists of Ready Reserve, Retired Reserve, and Standby Reserve, providing support and augmenting active forces.
MAGTF Components
Includes the Command Element (CE), Ground Combat Element (GCE), Aviation Combat Element (ACE), and Logistics Combat Element (LCE).
