Molarity (M)
The number of moles of solute divided by the volume of solution in liters.
Dilution
The process of decreasing the concentration of a solute in a solution.
Stock Solution
A concentrated solution that can be diluted to a lower concentration for actual use.
% Solution
A way to express the concentration of a solution as a percentage of solute per total volume.
Molecular Weight
The mass of one mole of a substance, typically expressed in grams per mole.
EDTA
Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, a chemical used in chelation therapy, as well as in biochemical applications.
CaCl2
Calcium chloride, an ionic compound that is highly soluble in water and used in various applications.
Glucose
A simple sugar that is an important energy source in living organisms and is also a component of many carbohydrates.
Buffer
A solution that resists changes in pH when small amounts of acid or base are added.
Final Concentration
The concentration of a solute in a solution after a dilution process or after additional solute has been added.
Volume
The amount of space that a substance occupies, often measured in liters (L), milliliters (mL), or microliters (µL).
Solution Preparation
The method of mixing a solute with a solvent to create a solution of desired concentration.
