newton’s first law
an object at rest/motion will stay at rest/motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force
ex : a soccer ball resting on the grass will not move until someone kicks it, applying an unbalanced force
newton’s second law
f = ma
ex : the cart has a low mass. pushing it with a normal force causes it to accelerate quickly. however, a higher mass and the same force will lead to a slowed acceleration
newton’s third law
every action has an equal and opposite reaction
ex : pushing a wall and it pushes you back in the opposite direction
inertia
an objects tendency to resist a change in motion
