Pinched Ears (Beer Bottle)
Reduced kernel row number part way up the ear due to inhibition of cell division in ear development by sulfony/urea herbicide

Diplodia Ear Rot
infection occurs with prolonged wet conditions in late vegetative stages through silking. kernels develop normally but are colonized and degraded by fungus

Tassel Ears
Combination tassel and ear in same structure at top of stalk
Tip Die Back
If aborted kernels are present at the ear tip

Blunt Ears (Beer Can)
Inhibition of ovule development, reduction in potential kernel number along length of row

Zipper Ears
Ears with missing kernel rows

Drought Damaged (nubbin ears, nosing back)
Small ears, small kernels, unpollinated

Kernel Red Streak
Red discoloration on kernels resultign from wheat curl mite feeding at late grain fill stage

Incomplete Kernel Set
Poor or scattered kernel set in the ear

Crazy Top
Caused by infection by a fungal pathogen. proliferation of small ear shoots, leaves, and lack of ear and tassel formation

Arrested Ears
Ear development arrested or stopped prematurely
