President serves 4 year term. George Washington started a two term tradition. FDR broke that tradition during WWII and won election to office 4 times. 22nd Amendment (1951)- limits the president to two elected terms or 10 years total.

Vice President becomes President if something happens to President. New President chooses a new Vice president with help of Congress. Vice President can serve as Acting President. Vice President has a role in deciding if President is fit for duty.
