Personality Characteristics Influence on the Development of A Country.
→ For example, Costa Rica used to attract many Venturer-type tourists, however it has developed and evolved over time and has started to attract dependable tourists instead, Costa Rica began losing its appeal to venturer type tourists. Therefore, in order to remain profitable, the government decided to protect all their natural areas and to promote adventurous activities in order to continue attracting venturer-type tourists. Hence by recognizing the type of activities and the decisions these tourists make, countries are able to decide how to promote their country and destination. What may start out as a destination that attracts venturer may change and attract more dependable-type tourists.
Differences between Mass Tourism and Niche Tourism.
Mass Tourism attracts dependables, but Niche Tourism attracts Venturers.
Mass Tourism involves tour guides and a large group of people but Niche Tourism involves a few or less people.
Mass Tourism involves a wide range of different activities for dependables but Niche Tourism involves specific and small range of activities for Venturers.
Mass Tourism is cheaper due to services being bought in bulk and is less customizable, but Niche tourism is more customizable as it involves less people and is more expensive
