However, for Dependable type of tourists, they preferred to visit more urbanized towns and areas with well-developed facilities for convenience.

Personality Characteristics Influence on the Development of A Country.

  • As more venturer tourists visit certain areas, they will start to appeal to more dependable tourists, as the country and the destination becomes more developed.

  • The government can choose which type of tourists to attract based on how they develop the destination.

→ For example, Costa Rica used to attract many Venturer-type tourists, however it has developed and evolved over time and has started to attract dependable tourists instead, Costa Rica began losing its appeal to venturer type tourists. Therefore, in order to remain profitable, the government decided to protect all their natural areas and to promote adventurous activities in order to continue attracting venturer-type tourists. Hence by recognizing the type of activities and the decisions these tourists make, countries are able to decide how to promote their country and destination. What may start out as a destination that attracts venturer may change and attract more dependable-type tourists.
