Recuerdo Activo (Active Recall)
A study technique involving closing the book and attempting to retrieve information from memory without notes to strengthen neural connections.
Repetición Espaciada (Spaced Repetition)
A method to combat the Curva del olvido (Forgetfulness Curve) by reviewing information at increasingly longer time intervals such as 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, and 1 month.
Técnica Feynman (Feynman Technique)
A study method named after physicist Richard Feynman that involves explaining a complex concept in very simple language, as if teaching a 10-year-old.
Curva del olvido (Forgetfulness Curve)
The natural process by which the brain loses information over time, which can be mitigated by moving data from short-term to long-term memory.
Completamiento de oraciones (Sentence Completion)
A test format where one to four words are omitted from a sentence, and the student must identify the correct words from the options provided.
Cuestionamiento directo (Direct Questioning)
A reactive format presented as a question or a statement that describes a correct answer among various alternatives.
Relación de columnas (Column Relation)
A test item format requiring the student to match elements from two different lists according to specific instructions.
Jerarquización u ordenamiento (Hierarchy or Ordering)
A reactive type that asks the student to arrange elements in a specific order based on criteria such as logical text structure (start, development, and closure).
Educación bancaria ("Banking Education")
A term used by Paulo Freire to describe a teacher-centered model where students are passive receptors of information.
Educación dialógica (Dialogic Education)
Freire's proposed alternative to "banking education," based on exchange, problem-posing, and the collective construction of knowledge.
Segunda Ley de Newton (F=m⋅a)
A physical law stating that force equals mass times acceleration; for example, a cart with more mass requires a stronger push to achieve the same speed as an empty one.
EdTest
The online platform used for the entrance exam that utilizes technology and remote supervision to ensure the integrity of the evaluation process.
LockDown Browser (LDB)
A secure web browser required for the exam that blocks the evaluation environment to prevent distractions or interference.
Prueba de Verificación de Equipo (Equipment Verification Test)
A mandatory technical check to confirm the student's computer, camera, and microphone meet the requirements for the online exam.
Fatiga cognitiva (Cognitive Fatigue)
Mental exhaustion that can be reduced on exam day by organizing materials in advance and avoiding unnecessary small decisions.
