Ziggurat
Massive structures built in ancient Mesopotamia serving as temples, reflecting the social and religious life.
Cuneiform
A system of writing first developed by the ancient Sumerians with wedge-shaped marks.
Hammurabi's Code
One of the oldest deciphered writings of significant length in the world, a Babylonian legal code established by King Hammurabi.
Assyria
An ancient empire known for its powerful military and monumental architecture, primarily located in northern Mesopotamia.
Akkadian Empire
An ancient Mesopotamian empire that emerged after the Sumerians, known for being the world's first empire.
Nebuchadnezzar II
The most influential ruler of the Neo-Babylonian Empire, noted for his military conquests and construction projects.
Persian Gulf
Body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran, historically significant for trade and culture.
Jericho
An ancient city known for its historical significance as one of the world's oldest inhabited cities.

A king of the Persian Empire known for his administrative reforms and construction projects, including the city of Persepolis.
