Power lifting goal
To increase your one repetition max.
Endurance lifting goal
To increase the number of repetitions you can do.
Base on Balls
A turn at bat in which the batter is automatically awarded first base when the pitcher delivers four pitches which are outside the strike zone.
Infield (Softball)
The portion of the field which is included within the diamond made by the base lines.
Triple
A three base hit.
Double
A two base hit.
Overthrow
A throw made by a fielder which goes into foul territory over first, second, third or home plate.
Strike Out
A play in which the umpire calls the third strike on the batter.
Error
An act committed by a fielder which permit’s a runner to reach base or advance an extra base.
Pop-up
A short fly ball hit anywhere in the infield or surrounding foul territory.
Wild Pitch
A fairly delivered ball in which is pitched so high, low, or wide of the catcher that cannot be caught or controlled.
Fair Ball
A batted ball which settles or is touched by a fielder between home and first, or between home and third base, or one in which the ball lands within the base lines beyond first or third base.
Single
One hit base hit.
Outfield (Softball)
The portion of the field beyond the diamond formed by the base lines and within the foul lines beyond first and third base within the boundaries of the playing field.
Foul Tip
A batted ball which goes directly from the bat not above the head of the batter to the catcher’s hands.
Strike
A pitched ball at which a batter swings or a pitch which enters the strike zone at which the batter does not swing.
Double Play
A play by the defensive team in which two base runners are put out on the same play.

The person who first developed volleyball in 1895 at the YMCA in Holyoke, Massachusetts.
USA Volleyball
The organization formerly known as the United States Volleyball Association, created in 1928 to enforce the rules of the game.
Rally scoring
A scoring system where the team that wins the rally scores the point and serves next.
Regulation set (Volleyball)
A game played to 25 points that must be won by 2 points.
Volleyball Rotation
Players rotate clockwise every time their team wins the serve from the other team.
CARRY (Volleyball)
A fault where a player holds or throws the ball.
LIFT
A fault where a player does not clearly hit the ball or allows the ball to come to rest on any part or parts of the body.
FOREARM PASS
The most frequently used skill in volleyball, used when the ball is below the player's head, often to receive a serve and pass to the setter.
SETTING
An overhead pass directed to the point where an attacker can best hit a spike.
SPIKING (Attack)
The last hit made by the offensive team, usually on the third contact.
ACE
Occurs when a team is unable to play the ball after the first contact of the serve.
Hitting sequence (Volleyball)
The preferred order of hits to get the ball back over the net: Bump-Set-Spike.
Line of Scrimmage (Flag Football)
The line that both the offense and defense must be on their own side of at the time of the snap.
Offsides Penalty
A 5 yard penalty occurring when a player is on the wrong side of the Line of Scrimmage at the time of the snap.
Illegal Forward Pass
A forward pass made beyond the line of scrimmage, resulting in a loss of down and a 5 yard penalty.
Pass Interference
A 15 yard penalty given when a player is not allowed an unobstructed opportunity to catch a passed ball.
Touchdown (Flag Football)
A scoring play worth 6 points.
Safety (Flag Football)
A scoring play worth 2 points.
Extra Point - Running
A post-touchdown scoring attempt worth 1 point in Flag Football.
Extra Point - Passing
A post-touchdown scoring attempt worth 2 points in Flag Football.
Fumbles (Flag Football)
The ball is considered dead at the spot of the fumble; players should not dive for it.
Unsportsmanlike Conduct
A 15 yard penalty resulting from tackling or rough play.
