Celestial Bodies
Natural objects in space, including stars, planets, and satellites.
Asteroid Belt
A region in space filled with numerous asteroids, separating the inner and outer planets of the solar system.
Inner Solar System
The part of the solar system consisting of Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.
Outer Solar System
The part of the solar system consisting of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and the dwarf planet Pluto.
Revolution of the Earth
The movement of the Earth around the Sun, taking approximately 365 days to complete a full orbit.
Rotation of the Earth
The spinning of the Earth on its axis, which takes about 24 hours to complete one full turn.
Hubble Space Telescope
A space telescope that has provided detailed images and data about celestial bodies and the universe.
Spin-off Technologies
Technological advancements originally developed for space travel that are now used in everyday life.
Leap Year
A year that includes an extra day (February 29) to keep our calendar in alignment with the Earth's position in its orbit.
Phobos and Deimos
The two small moons of Mars, believed to be captured asteroids.
