Low Beam Headlights
Headlights that must show objects 150feet ahead and be visible from 1,000feet.
High Beam Headlights
Headlights that must show objects 450feet ahead and be visible from 1,000feet.
Bumper Height Requirement (Cars < 2,500 lbs)

The legal speed limit is 30MPH unless otherwise posted.
Standard Speed Limit (Limited Access Highways)
The legal speed limit is 70MPH.
Perception Distance
The distance your vehicle travels from the time your eyes see a hazard until your brain recognizes it, averaging 43 to 1second.
Total Stopping Distance
The sum of perception distance, reaction distance, and braking distance; at 50MPH it is approximately 268feet.
Three-Point Turn
A maneuver used to turn around in a limited space of 20 to 40feet when the road is too narrow for a U-turn.
Four-Second Rule
The minimum recommended following distance for vehicles during favorable weather and traffic conditions.
Move Over Law (Multi-Lane)
Requirement to vacate the lane closest to stationary emergency, utility, or sanitation vehicles; if unable to move, slow to 20MPH below the limit.
No-Fault Law
Requires vehicle owners to maintain a minimum of $10,000 in Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and $10,000 in Property Damage Liability (PDL).
Implied Consent Law
The legal agreement by a driver to take blood, urine, or breath tests for alcohol or drugs if suspected of DUI; refusal results in a 1year license suspension.
Zero Tolerance (Drivers Under 21)
Policy where any driver under 21 with a Blood Alcohol Level (BAL) of .02 or higher will have their driving privilege automatically suspended for 6months.
No Zone
Large blind spots around commercial motor vehicles (front, back, and sides) where a truck driver cannot see other vehicles.
Resident (Florida Law)
A person who has lived in the state for more than 6consecutive months, registered to vote, or filed for homestead exemption.
Class E Driver License
The license classification for drivers of non-commercial motor vehicles.
Point System Suspension (12 Points)
A license suspension for 30days if 12points are accumulated within a 12month period.
