Multiple of 6
A number that can be divided by 6 without a remainder, such as 18 from the list 1,2,5,8,14,18,26,99.
Prime numbers
Numbers that have only two factors: itself and 1; examples from the lecture include 3 and 19.
Factors of 28
Whole numbers that divide into 28 exactly, which include 4, 7, and 28.
Isosceles triangle

MMXII
The Roman numeral representation for the decimal year 2012.
MMVIII
The Roman numeral representation for the decimal year 2008.
Perimeter formula (P)
The distance around the outside of a shape; for the specific rod shape provided, the simplified formula is P=4x+2y.
Range
The difference between the highest and lowest values in a data set; for example, article lengths ranging from 6 to 9 paragraphs have a range of 3 (9−6=3).
Mode
The value that appears most frequently in a data set; in the pipe diameter set of 5,4,5,6,5cm, the mode is 5cm.
Equivalent ratios
Ratios that represent the same proportional relationship, such as 3:5 and 9:15.
Pie chart angle for salad
The sector size in degrees calculated from student data; for 20 out of 120 students, the angle is 60∘.
Circumference
The distance around the edge of a circle; for a circle with a radius of 3ft, it is 18.84ft (using π=3.14).
Knots
A unit of speed used for ships; for instance, 15knots is equivalent to approximately 26 to 28km/h.
Probability of a total score of 6
The likelihood of rolling a sum of 6 using two spinners numbered 1 to 4; recorded as having 3 favorable outcomes (2,4;3,3;4,2) out of 16 total possibilities, resulting in 3/16.
