Power
the ability to influence groups/others in global politics and achieve outcomes
Sovereignty
when states exercise supreme control over what happens within their borders
Interdependence
The mutual reliance between and among group organizations, geographic areas, and/or states for access to resources that sustain living arrangements
Legitimacy
Actors os actions considered acceptable, usually conforming to an agreed upon set of laws
Human Rights
Indivisible rights which all human beings are entitled to by virtue of their humanity without discrimination
Justice
The concept of fair treatment, usually based on an agreed and accepted set of laws that are applied equally, universally, and with right to a fair trial
Liberty
freedom to live without excessive interference from those in power, allowing the freedom to flourish and make the most of opportunities
Equality
The idea that people are treated the same, without discrimination, and are allowed to enjoy the same opportunities
Development
a sustained increase in the standard of living in a society
Sustainability
the capacity of countries and groups to maintain themselves by reducing the factors that threaten well-being
Inequality
the notion that globalization has both advantages and disadvantages, and that its benefits are not evenly distributed. This phenomenon exists between countries and within countries.
Globalization
a process of interaction and integration that occurs between people trading entities and governments of different nations.
Peace
a state of both non-conflict and harmonious relations
conflict
the dynamic process of actual of perceived opposition between individuals, groups, or countries, over ideas, interests, resources and territories
violence
physical or mental harm inflicted upon another, and prevents them from reaching their full potential
non-violence
Advocating for one’s rights without physically harming the opponent. Often involved actively opposing the system that it deems to be unjust.
