Contact Diseases “Really Sticky Infections Might Spread”

• RSV

• Scabies, Lice

• Infectious diarrhea (C.diff)

• MRSA

• Skin infection that cannot be covered (HSV, chickenpox)

Airborne Precautions

• N95 + Respirator

• Negative air pressure room

• Client wears surgical mask during transport

Droplet Precautions

• Surgical mask

• Private room or cohort with same infection

• Surgical mask when transporting

Contact Precautions

• Gown and Gloves

• Private room or cohort with same infection

• C. diff: Wash hands with soap and water, sanitize with bleach!

Multiple Isolation Precautions

• RSV= Contact + Droplet

• Varicella= Contact +Airborne

• COVID-19= Contact + Airborne + Eye Protection
