Consumer Behavior
The study of how individuals make decisions to spend their available resources on consumption-related items.

Mindset Priming
A cognitive process where exposure to a certain stimulus influences one's subsequent behavior or attitudes.
Transience
The reduction of memory over time, resulting in forgetting information that was recently learned.
Absent-mindedness
Forgetting due to shallow processing or lack of attention during the encoding phase of memory.
Blocking
A memory error that occurs when the retrieval of a memory is obstructed by related information.
Associative Network
A cognitive framework that represents information as interconnected nodes or concepts in memory.
Depth of Processing
The idea that deeper levels of processing information (e.g., semantic processing) lead to better retention than shallow processing.
Generation Effect
The phenomenon whereby information is better remembered if it is generated from one's own mind rather than simply read.
False Memories
Recall of an event that did not actually happen or the recollection of an event in a distorted way.
Suggestibility
The tendency to incorporate misleading information from external sources into one’s memory of an event.
Priming Effect
The increase in the speed or accuracy of responses to stimuli due to prior exposure to related information.
Schemas
Cognitive structures that help organize knowledge and guide processing of information.
Cognitive Neuroscience
The field that studies the biological processes underlying cognition, particularly the relationships between brain processes and behavior.
Impulse Purchases
Purchases made with little or no planning, often driven by emotions or immediate desire.
Memory Imperfections
Various types of errors or distortions that can occur during the memory process, affecting the accuracy of recollection.
