Teachers found to discipline black pupils quicker and have racialised expectations. Therefore black pupils feel targeted and picked on, explaining higher exclusion rates and being in lower sets.

He sent three job applications with names associated with different ehtnic groups. Found 1 in 16 ethnic minority were offered an interview against 1 i n 9 white applications. This helps explain why ethnic minorities are likely to face unemployment and low pay, having a negative effect on their childrens education
