Prisoners who are permitted to work outside of prison to prepare their work eventually release can be made to pay a proportion of earnings towards cost of victims support service to help repay
How does unduly lenient sentences fail to achieve reparation?
Not all prisoners serve their full sentence and therefore don’t repay their dept of society.
An example is Stuart Hall who was sentenced 5yrs after pleading guilty of assaulting two girls; only served half his sentence before his release.
