why is it difficult for young people to believe in God?
It’s difficult to believe in something they haven’t seen
Science diproves biblical ideas of miracles
Some find religious texts hard to accept
Many religions believe their God is the only God-they can’t all be right
It’s difficult to believe there are so much suffering in the world if God exists
Believing in God often means loving life following certain values or principles-many find this hard to do
‘It is good for people to believe in God’ agree/disagree

it gives people hope in their bad times
It introduces a sense of ease and peacefulness
Death isn’t as scary as people know they will have an afterlife with God
Belief provide provides our foundation for morality-Guide guidelines on what is right and wrong
People who are religious tend to lead happier and more fulfilled lives
Religious societies may experience less crimes

It restricts people and what they can do
Believe in God can encourage violence(intolerance of others lifestyle)
You can be a good person without believing in God
If God doesn’t exist and you believe you’ve based your life on a falsehood
What does immanent mean?
The belief of God is involved and present in his creation
What does transcendent mean?
The belief the God is beyond and not limited by the world that he created
What does omnipotent mean?
This is the belief that God is all powerful. There is nothing that is beyond God or impossible for him today
Power seen in the Bible in the creation account when he makes the world and when he sends the plagues and parts the red Sea through Moses. In Jeremiah god says “is anything too hard for me?” God is omnipotent in salvation as in Jesus’s resurrection he rose him from the dead
What does omniscient mean?
This is the belief that God is all knowing. if we trust him, he will know what is right for us.
He knows everything about and each and every person he has created and if we do something god knows if our intentions were pure or not. In hebrews Paul informs us that god is omniscient. Christians believe god has a plan for everyone even before they were born.
What does omnipresent mean?
This is the belief that God is everywhere. when believers pray they know God hears them wherever they might be
What does Omnibenevolent mean?
The belief that God is absolutely good, completely pure and nothing he does is ever bad or evil. the source of all goodness
What does knowable mean?
The belief that believers can have a personal relationship with God. This could be seen through prayer
What does unknowable mean?
The belief that God is beyond human understanding and humans can never hope to know and understand him completely
What does monotheism mean?
This is the belief in one God for example, Christianity and Islam
What is polytheism?
The belief that there are many gods for example Hindus
