Inflammatory Disorders
Conditions that occur due to hypersensitivity reactions to substances in the environment.
Infectious Agents
Pathogens including viruses and insects that can cause infections.
Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV)
A virus that causes lesions, typically HSV-1 on the lips and HSV-2 in the genital area; has a latent phase.
Clinical Manifestations of HSV
Symptoms including burning, pustules, ulcers, and pain, with no cure.
Herpes-Zoster Virus
Also known as shingles, it is an acute inflammatory disease caused by the reactivation of the varicella zoster virus.
Postherpetic Neuralgia
Recurring pain that can persist for months to years following a herpes zoster rash.
Superficial Fungal Infections
Infections caused by various fungi affecting the skin, with different manifestations based on the infected area.
Candida albicans
A yeast that causes infections; common manifestations include white lesions, especially in immunocompromised individuals.
Impetigo
A bacterial infection characterized by vesicles, pustules, and yellowish crusts, often caused by staphylococci or streptococci.
Psoriasis
A chronic skin condition involving papules and plaques with silvery scales, influenced by genetic and autoimmune factors.
Atopic Dermatitis
An allergic condition resulting from genetic factors that lead to inflammation and skin dryness.
Acne Vulgaris
A skin disorder arising from follicle obstruction due to oils and dead skin cells, often exacerbated by stress and hormonal changes.
Scabies
Infestation caused by the Sarcoptes scabiei mite leading to intense itching and papular rashes.
Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever
A disease transmitted by ticks, causing fever, muscle aches, and a characteristic rash.
Scleroderma
A condition characterized by collagen deposition and fibrosis of the skin and internal organs, with localized or diffuse forms.
Pressure Ulcers
Skin sores developing due to prolonged pressure on a body part, leading to tissue damage.
Kaposi Sarcoma
A malignant tumor associated with immunodeficiency, presenting as purple lesions primarily in the skin.
