What is Maxillary Nerve Block
anaesthesia is the maxillary branch of the trigeminal nerve.
This branch supplies; maxillary teeth, buccal/labial maxillary mucosa, Skin of mid face and the palatal mucosa
List The maxillary nerve block techniques
intraoral techniques
extra oral techniques
other vestibular maxillary nerve blocks
other palatal maxillerina blocks
contraindications of intraoral technique
has a high risk of carrying infection into the pterygopalatine fossa
contraindicated in cases of; paediatric patients, uncooperative patients, traumatised or infected tissues at the injection site, trismus, hemophiliacs (person with hemophilia)
describe the intraoral technique from the tuberosity approach

describe the intraoral technique from the Greater Palatine Foramen approach

list the branches of the maxillary nerve
the maxillary nerve passes through the Foramen rotundum and then enters the Pterygopalatine fossa and gives of several branches:
zygomatic nerve → zygomaticofacial and zygomaticotemporal
infraorbital nerve → continues as Terminal branch
superior alveolar nerves (posterior, Middle, anterior)
Palatine nerves (greater and lesser)
Nasopalatine
pharyngeal branch
posterior superior nasal branches
meningeal branch
Zack Is Superman Part-time Not Paid Pretty Much
What areas are supplied by Zygomatic nerve and its divisions - zygomaticofacial and zygomaticotemporal
skin over the zygomatic (cheek) and temporal regions
what areas are supplied by infraorbital nerve
Lower eyelid
side of nose
Upper lip
what areas are supplied by Superior Alveolar nerves (posterior, middle, anterior)
posterior → molars
middle → premolars
anterior → canines and incisors
what areas are supplied by Palatine nerves (greater and lesser)
hard and soft palate
palatal mucosa
gingiva
what areas are supplied by Nasopalatine nerve
anterior hard palate
palatal gingiva behind incisors
what areas are supplied by Pharyngeal Branch
mucosa of nasopharynx
what areas are supplied by posterior superior nasal branches
lateral wall of nasal cavity
nasal septum
what areas are supplied by Meningeal branch
dura mater of Middle Cranial Fossa
Describe the extraoral Method from the lateral approach

describe the extraoral method from the anterior approach

Describe the extraoral Method from the orbital route

describe the extra oral method from the intranasal route

List The other vestibular maxillary nerve blocks
posterior superior alveolar nerve block
middle superior alveolar nerve block
anterior superior alveolar nerve block
describe posterior superior alveolar nerve block

describe Middle superior alveolar nerve block

Describe anterior superior alveolar nerve block

List The Other Palatal Maxillary Nerve Blocks
greater Palatine nerve block
nasopalatine nerve block
anterior middle superior alveolar nerve block - AMSA injection
describe the Greater Palatine nerve block

describe the nasopalatine nerve block

Describe the anterior middle superior alveolar nerve block - AMSA injection
