Nempe tenens quod amo

Without a doubt, holding that which I love

Gremioque in Iasonis haerens per freta longa ferar:

and clinging onto the chest of Jason, I will be carried over the wide sea:

Nihil illum amplexa verebor aut, siquid metuam, metuam de coniuge solo

I will fear nothing while embracing him, or, if I fear anything, I will fear for my husband alone

Coniugiumne putas

But do you consider this marriage

Speciosaque nomina culpae imponis, Medea, tuae?

And give showy names to your guilt, Medea?

Quin adspice, quantum adgrediare nefas

Indeed, look at how great a crime you are approaching

et, dum licet, effuge crimen”
