What happened to Germany after WWII?
It was split into 4 zones. The USSR, USA, Britain and France all controlled a zone.

Bi-zonia. (France then added theirs and this was known as Trizonia).
What did the USSR do to East Germany's factories after WWII?
The USSR stripped the factories in their zone of assets and machines etc (to take as reparations)
What did Britain, France and the USA do in June 1948?
They united their zones into a new country, West Germany. On 23 June 1948, they introduced a new currency, which they said would help trade.
What was Stalin's response to the creation of West Germany and the new currency?
The next day, Stalin cut off all rail and road links to west Berlin - the Berlin Blockade.
Why did Truman ignore General Clay ,who wanted to invade east Germany?
Truman did not want a hot war. Even if the US just brought food in by road it could be seen as an invasion.

The US supplied West Berlin by air.
