Cytoplasm
Gel like substance inside the cell it’s a expensive organelles and provides an environment for chemical reactions within the cell
Cell membrane
Found in all cells, prokaryotic and eukaryotic it controls what enters and leaves the cell maintains cell homeostasis, which is the site of cell transport
Ribosomes
It’s location is floating in the side of plasm and on the endoplasmic reticulum it’s function is that it makes proteins
Nucleus
Location is in eukaryotic cell cells, including plants and animals. Its genetic information called DNA and contains nucleolus that makes ribosomes
Mitochondria
All eukaryotic cells it creates energy called ATP and is a site of cellular respiration
Golgi bodies
Location is in all eukaryotic cells it modifies sources and ships proteins and it can send proteins within or outside the cell
Cytoskeleton
A network of proteins found throughout the cell it provides structure for cells and movement of organelles
Rough endoplasmic reticulum
It’s rough because of ribosomes and it makes and transports proteins
Smooth endoplasmic reticulum
It makes lipids and membranes. It also detoxifies (liver) and stores calcium (muscle)
chloroplast
Location is plant cell. It’s the site of photosynthesis and uses the sons energy to produce food.
Central vacuole
Location is plant cell it’s function is that it stores water and helps maintain plant shape
Cell wall
Rigid support structure and it’s found outside of the cell membrane
Lysosome
Location is an animal cell. It’s just bacteria and viruses and recycles old cell parts.
Centrosome
Location is animal cell. It creates spindle fibers which helps with cell division.
vacuole- different from the central vacuole
Location, animal cells it stores cell materials, waste, water
What is the main difference between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells?
Eukaryotic cells have a membrane, bound nucleus, and complex organelles like mitochondria and Golgi. While, the prokaryotic cells lack these.
Name three organelles found in plant cells, but not an animal cell
Cell wall, chloroplast, and a large central vacuole
What is the primary function of the mitochondria?
To generate most of the cell supply of ATP maintain energy currency through cellular respiration
