-metabolizes norepinephrine
anti-depressants (general)
-relieves symptoms of depression
-50% of ppl are positively affected
problems w/ anti-depressants
cold turkey = homicidal, suicidal
nausea, insomnia, nervousness, other sleep problems
antipsychotics
alters schizophrenia
-doesn't cut out, makes less severe - hallucinations & delusions
-drugs target dopamine (neurotransmitter)
-reduce agitation or degree of social withdrawal

-side effect of ppl who took early antipsychotics
-facial + muscle tics
ECT (electroconvulsive therapy) - process
