Taxonomy
The field of biology concerned with grouping and classification of species.
Three domains of life
Bacteria, Archaea, and Eukarya. Bacteria and Archaea are unicellular prokaryotes, while Eukarya includes both unicellular and multicellular eukaryotes.
Complex cells with a nucleus
Eukarya consists of organisms with complex cells that have a nucleus.
Four kingdoms
In the past, organisms were divided into four kingdoms:Protista, Plantae, Fungi, and Animalia.
Binomial Nomenclature
Each species has a unique scientific name consisting of two parts. The genus name is capitalized, while the species descriptor is not capitalized. Both names are italicized.

An example of a species with its scientific name. Ocellaris clownfish is the common name for this species.
