bio carrying capacity
maximum population of a species that a specific ecosystem can support over long periods of time.
Cultural carrying capacity:
maximum population level of a species with which the human population can compatibly coexist with or tolerate. (depends on animal’s tolerance for humans)
Harvest:
the regulated removal of a certain number of individuals from a population.
limit harvest:
season lengths (how long the harvest season will be)
daily and seasonal bag limits (how many may be harvested)
sex or age limitations (what sex or how old the individuals harvested can be)
limited entry (limit the # of access sites or the # of participants)
timing of the season (what time of year will the harvest take place)
equipment restrictions (what type of equipment can be used)
