So many people meant peoples situations deteriorated, and populations ended up living in appalling conditions.
What happened to food supplies in ghettos?
They were much lower and this resulted in many deaths due to malnutrition.
What caused disease in ghettos?
Poor sanitation and cramped conditions led to diseases like tuberculosis and typhus.
