Agoseris

AGOSERIS

• Similar to dandelion 

• Found in meadows

• Young leaves can be eaten, contains nutrients such as iron, zinc, and calcium 

Arrowhead

• Found in shallow water; swamps and marshes

• Flowers have 3 white petals

• Roots contain starchy tubers, containing carbohydrates. Must be boiled/roasted

Arrow-Leaved Balsamroot

• Similar to a sunflower, with bright yellow flowers with seeds in the middle

• Leaves come to a point, hence the name

• Seeds and young leaves are edible raw; the roots are edible if cooked and can be grounded and used as an ointment to treat cuts and relieve soreness. 

Beargrass

BEARGRASS

• Long fibrous stalks, occasionally with a white fluffy flower, similar to the center of a cattail

• Grows where treelines meet meadows; commonly above the treeline on peaks

• Stalks can be weaved into rope
